My newest Surinamese experience started on the street out of Brownsweg, in which I’d remained for the last day or so. Where we would then grab a ship imro from Jenny Tours and I were driving a hour and 15 minutes to the town of Atjoni on the Suriname River.
We passed through Brownsweg, the town nearby. We stopped to get some gas and passed by a number of its gold mines. My favorite part about the road trip is that you don’t know exactly what to expect due to animals crossing the street! For now, we passed by plenty of bush. I was amazed by how green the country is. I love short road trips .
We arrived on the Suriname River in Atjoni, a town.
There are tons of boats along the lake that head to villages across the Upper Suriname River. We went to look for some food at a restaurant across the lake. I wanted something else , although I found some carrot banana. We have a liter of Parbo bier, that was refreshing and mild.
I received some barbecued chicken and french fries with mayonnaise. The noodles had a sweet sauce on them. The marinade on the chicken has been good. It had a charcoal flavor. I adored the Indonesian effect in the food! It’s altered.
The chicken was also fresh. The curry was a little different from the peanut sauce I’d had before in my trip but was still outstanding. I washed it all down with all the beer!
We moved to the Fu Lin supermarket. We bought some beer because they don’t have any to. A few Guinness was bought by us and made sure to get some for the ship captain. Then, we got on the ship!
I put on my own life jacket and covered myself with my scarf. We were searching for a boat ride upriver. Imro said that we may see caiman, monkeys, and some anaconda, sloths, toucans, and more.
A girl in our ship had a Indian street food which she shared with me! It consisted of vada along with a cherry chutney with the African twist! It was and the vada needed a dough. The chutney was unreal. I was really loving the influences from the cuisine here! We proceeded on down the lake toward Isadou and dropped the woman off in a different village.
After passing through an area having a powerful current that was super, we got to the resort. We were way off the beaten trail! I had a good deal of bags due to my equipment! The island was pretty little. Three of these and the others have two bedrooms and 4 bedrooms, respectively. It reminded me of my own time in Panama. There really are a few places to eat along with opportunities was it!
I trust you enjoyed traveling with me to my Surinamese Indian street food feast that is fast along with Isadou Island from Stone Island! If you did, then leave a comment please give this movie a thumbs up, and then subscribe so that you don’t miss some of my forthcoming travel/food experiences!
